What I Do.
My work with clients incorporates teaching and practicing both acceptance and change skills. In our work together, we will confront your fears in an approachable and tolerable way. We will work towards identifying how you want to be living your life so that you will be able to make decisions that are important to you, despite anxiety. I see my clients as the drivers of treatment and I serve as the navigation system. I will teach you the skills to get you where you want to go and to develop a different relationship with anxiety.

Treatment Approaches.

ERP is the “gold standard” treatment for OCD. In this therapy, individuals are exposed to situations that provoke their obsessions in a safe environment, while helping them prevent their compulsive responses. The ultimate goal of ERP is to free people from the cycle of obsessions and compulsions so they can live a more meaningful and compulsion-free life. ERP is also extremely effective for treating phobias, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and other anxiety disorders.

ACT is an empirically based treatment that utilizes acceptance and mindfulness strategies along with commitment and behavior-change strategies. The skills that are learned and practiced in this treatment can lead you to live a life that feels more meaningful and fulfilling, without allowing difficult emotions to consume your daily life.

CBT and the theory behind it suggests that our thoughts, emotions, body sensations, and behavior are all connected, and that what we think and do affects the way we feel. As humans, we often fall into unhelpful patterns of thinking and responding which can worsen how we feel. CBT works to help us notice and change problematic thinking styles or behavior patterns so we can have an improved quality of life.
Meet Your Therapist
I offer both in-person and virtual therapy via a HIPAA-compliant platform. Virtual treatment has many advantages including my ability to treat clients who have limited access to specialists based on their location. Remote therapy also allows me to serve clients who have busy schedules, transportation difficulties, and/or who are not ready or able to leave their home for a variety of reasons, which may include physical ailments, social anxiety, panic disorder, and agoraphobia. Please contact me if you are contemplating engaging in virtual therapy so that we can determine if this mode of treatment is right for you.
